5 Things To Know About the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody
When you want a car that is seen, felt and heard, the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody is your model. Here are 5 things to know about the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody and its sibling Scat Pack Widebody.

This Is Why It Is Named Widebody

Giving the name of “Widebody” to the 2020 Dodge Charger is more than just a visual redesign of the car’s nose and grill opening. Dodge started by adding fender flares on wider Pirelli tires and 11-inch wide, 20-inch diameter wheels. This is an increase of 3.3 inches in width. While that addition provides extreme grip, the Charger Widebody also adds other elements, including:

Standard electric power steering

Modified shocks, springs and sway bars

Front spring rates

There Are Two Models To Choose From

Once you have your heart set on a Widebody, you have another decision to make. There are two models to choose from, the Scat Pack Widebody and the SRT Hellcat Widebody.

The Scat Pack Widebody is a great introduction, with a base starting at $45,995, just slightly above the regular Scat Pack Charger. It has a 6.4L V8 SRT Hemi®MDS engine and:

485 horsepower

475 lb.-ft of torque

8-speed automatic 8HP70 transmission

Ability to go 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds

A top speed of 176 m.p.h.

The SRT Hellcat is available only as a Widebody and has a base starting at $71,745. It gives you even more power, plus:

707 horsepower

650 lb.-ft of torque

8-speed automatic HP90 transmission

Ability to go 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds

A top speed of 196 m.p.h.

The Daytona Edition

To commemorate 50 years since the Dodge Charger was first introduced onto NASCAR speedways, Dodge is manufacturing a 50th Anniversary Charger edition as part of the SRT Hellcat line. These cars will be limited to only 501 in total, to correspond with the exact number of Chargers produced by Dodge in 1969.

The Daytona version adds 10 horsepower and starts at $75,635. If you are lucky enough to score one, you are going to be easily spotted due to its stunning visual appearance of a redesigned interior trim, the classic Daytona stripe on the tail and the color-keyed deck wing. This edition comes in the special colors of White Knuckle, Pitch Black, Triple Nickle and B5 Blue.

It Is Anything but Understated

If you are someone who likes to fly under the radar and slip through life inconspicuously, this is not the car for you. Instead, the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody is meant for those who like turning heads and being the center of attention.

Bold, intimidating and even slightly menacing, this car is meant to be seen and heard. Yet somehow it also manages to function exceedingly well as a family sedan, if that is what you need. Just because your lifestyle has changed doesn’t mean your vehicle must follow suit. After all, when you are going on about your day, why not enjoy and be proud of the ride you are in?

It Is Consumer Driven

Automobile markets have never been as competitive as they are today, with manufacturers from multiple continents competing across a range of different vehicle categories. Dodge has been closely following the desires of consumers and that is why they first introduced a Widebody in 2019 on their popular Challenger model.

By expanding to the Charger SRT Widebody, Dodge is thinking outside of the box to offer things their fans have never even dreamed of. But the bottom line is that it is not just about dreams, but rather also about performance. And the 2020 Charger Widebody sedans give the power, look and driving execution that is more than ever could be imagined.
