2020 Jeep Rubicon

After a thorough redesign for the 2018 model year, the Jeep Wrangler became one of the most sought-after small SUVs for drivers who love to take their tires on the trail. The vehicle is styled after the original 4x4 designed for U.S. troops during World War II and retains that spirit while incorporating desirable amenities that appeal to the modern driver. For this year, off-roading fans should consider the Jeep Rubicon, a mid-level trim for the 2020 Wrangler lineup. Take off the room, remove the doors and enjoy Florida's natural beauty and incredible year-round weather. Here's what you need to know about all the exciting features and impressive updates to this rugged American icon.

Unmatched Performance and Off-Roading Prowess

Equip your 2020 Jeep Rubicon with either a 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 or a 270-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, with a diesel engine announced for mid-year. Both options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, or opt for the six-speed manual for optimal control if you decide on the V6. According to Car and Driver road testing, the Wrangler can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 6.1 seconds when built with the more powerful engine.

Regardless of the powertrain, you land on, you'll enjoy a tough suspension that can handle anything you throw its way, with at least 9.7 inches of ground clearance to sail over rocks, roots and other obstacles. Every 2020 Wrangler features a two-speed transfer case to maximize torque at low speeds, protective skid plates, and tow hooks. The Rubicon goes above and beyond with a slew of features designed to master the most challenging terrain, including 17-inch alloy wheels with premium 33-inch all-terrain tires, front and rear locking differentials that evenly distribute power to all four wheels, and rock sliders. The tire height and boosted fender flares increase your ground clearance to a whopping 10.8 inches.

Luxurious. High-Tech Cabin

Rubicon drivers have their choice of the two-door model, which can accommodate four passengers, and the expanded four-door Wrangler Unlimited with seating for up to five. Upgrade your cabin with creature comforts like sumptuous leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. The accommodations are comfortable and spacious, especially when you opt for the Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. This model also has more cargo space than nearly any other compact SUV. With nearly 72 cubic feet in the trunk with the seats folded down, this is the ideal vehicle for camping and other adventures.

Every Wrangler comes with Jeep's touchscreen Uconnect infotainment system, offering fast, intuitive navigation for directions, streaming audio and more. Each trim is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for your smartphone, a USB streaming and charging port, an eight-speaker stereo, cruise control, and push-button start.

When you choose the Rubicon trim, you can also take advantage of upgraded tech features, including an expanded 7-inch touch screen, seamless and safe access to your device with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, and satellite radio. This model also boasts comfort upgrades such as dual-zone automatic climate control.

Commitment to Safety

The 2020 Wrangler Rubicon comes standard with a rearview camera. If you want to explore Jeep's available active safety features, you can add the Active Safety Package of optional features, which comes with blind-spot monitoring and rear parking sensors and/or the Advanced Safety package with forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. Results of crash testing from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety remain pending for the 2020 Wrangler.
